FERN JOSEPH de MONTIGNY After a lengthy battle with leukemia, Fern passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on March 22, 2004 at the age of 78 years. Fern is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverley; three sons, Dennis of California, Fern Jr. (Carrie), Darrell (Christa) two daughters, Deborah (Darryl) and Dawn (Charlie) grandchildren, Kim, Kristoffer, Whitney, Crystal, Lucas; great-grandchildren, Quinn, Maggie, Jordan, Braiden, Brooklyn; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Fern was born on September 30, 1925 in Ste. Anne, MB and lived 25 years in Transcona. He drove for the White Ribbon Bus Lines from 1950 to 1955, and then started driving for the Greyhound Bus Service from 1956 to retirement in 1988. Fern was a loving husband and a family man; we all enjoyed 35 years at the cottage at Rush Bay. Mom and Dad also enjoyed six wonderful years at Paradise Village where they had a lot of great times and made a lot of good friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The family would like to thank Dr. Galbraith, Dr. Johnston, the senior investigator at the Institute of Cell Biology, Dr. Lemoine, Dr. de Moissac and the special nursing staff of Ste. Anne Hospital, Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare Manitoba for all their care and consideration to Fern over the years.
